Job Description

Job Summary

The Associate Director will provide leadership and be responsible for work winning and delivery of services in the Abu Dhabi market as a primary responsibility, liaising with the other regional directors as necessary.

The Associate Director will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value driven service for Clients. He/ She will also be responsible for direct reports and provide support and supervision. Will be Client focused and lead project teams and/or provide advisory services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing new and existing clients of regional and EMEA wide significance.

  • Contributes and influences AECOM wide strategic direction and communicates and creates buy-in to the strategy across the business.

  • Assists in establishing the strategic focus areas for the end market sectors.

  • Assists in establishing the financial plan for the regional business.

  • Accountable for the financial performance of a portion of the Abu Dhabi business.

  • Leads a culture of talent management within the business, including identifying and developing key talent.

  • Improves business results and efficiency through considered and timely decisions and actions.

  • Anticipates future trends and adapts the business to maximize profitability.

  • Applies new thinking and innovation that shapes the businesses service offering at the highest level.

  • Drives growth in order to improve profitability.

  • Builds strong backlog/pipeline of future work.

  • Ensures all deliverables comply with the Quality Control requirements

  • Complies with all QA requirements

  • Interprets Benchmark data and presents to Clients

  • Presents project deliverables to Clients

  • Leading and delivery of all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion.

  • Achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.

  • To maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry.

Specific skills required

  • Familiar with Cost X software or other cost planning software

  • Good understanding of preparing cost plans to elemental detail

  • Through understanding of Conditions of Contract and contractual issues

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to provide specialist services in support of project requirements

  • Independently performs highly complex professional assignments

  • Able to present to Clients and senior industry professionals

  • A qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialist activity of a moderately sized team

  • Must be pro-active and adaptable

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Committed to maintaining a high standards and accuracy of work

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years' experience since obtaining maximum educational qualification.

  • Experience of working in GCC

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or higher

  • Accredited MRICS member

Additional Information

Should be prepared to Travel for work or to project office bases as necessary
