Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering V to be based in Arlington, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, or conduct detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.

  • Perform power design calculations, lighting design, and lighting calculations using AGI software.

  • Attend site surveys.

  • Review request for information for construction support.

  • Meet schedule and budget constraints per project demands.

  • Provide schedule input for design tasks and preparation of task budgets.

  • Develop and review designs and construction drawings.

  • Identify construction costs trending out of budget.

  • Manage the preparation of milestone submittals.

  • Review contractor submittals and support the installation of traction power systems components and software.

  • Work with OCS engineers to coordinate work on all projects.

  • Participate in project working meetings and manage meeting minute tasks.

  • Produce construction specifications.

  • Develop cost estimates and projections.

  • Perform Electrical/Traction Power design and construction of engineering projects.

  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Approve and sign off on work.

  • Provide technical expertise for studies and design efforts.

  • Present complex technical solutions to clients.

  • Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.

  • Participate in development of technical proposals.

  • Provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires:

  1. Professional Engineering License;

  2. AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation;

  3. Bluebeam;

  4. Electrified rail transit systems: AC and DC systems;

  5. Traction power AC and DC High and Low Voltage systems including relaying, rectifier, distribution and SCADA equipment;

  6. AREMA and IEEE standards for Traction Power design;

  7. Substations, 3rd rail or Overhead Contact distribution systems; and

  8. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $170,000.00 - $234,034.00.
