AECOM International Development (AID) is seeking an Intern to support the Environment & Infrastructure (E&I) Program Management Unit training and capacity development activities. The internship will provide assistance with elements of development project management and proposal preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct supplementary desk research for ongoing projects and proposals
Support the development of CVs and other write-ups for key and non-key personnel of current projects and proposals
Provide logistical and administrative support to staff traveling abroad
Compile information used for reporting to donors on current programs
Draft initial Scope of Work details for Independent Consultants based on previous templates
Review and audit consultant expense reports and timesheets
Edit field reports
Collect and compile, success stories and other material that can be used for proposals and marketing materials and orient staff to relevant information
Provide administrative support in project start-ups and close-outs, including reviewing and formatting templates for project manuals and forms
Liaise with business support units such as finance, compliance, human resources, IT, and communications;
Support the Contracts Administration Department and other divisions in conducting desk reviews and file audits; this includes administration and filing support
Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements for project meetings, workshops and seminars, in Arlington as needed
Assist with translations, as needed
Other duties, as assigned
Qualified candidates for this internship will be able to work five (5) days a week (minimum 40 hours) and will have the following qualifications:
Office work experience and strong computer skills, including Excel
Strong cross-cultural, communication, time-management, and organizational skills
Solid research skills and ability to analyze and write reports
Detail oriented with excellent organizational ability
Strong computer skills – particularly in MS Office including document formatting, chart and graph creation and spreadsheet / budget creation
Strong English writing and editing skill
Bachelors Degree strongly preferred;
Educational and/or work experience in the energy, environment, or water technical areas strongly preferred;
An interest and/or prior work experience in international development strongly preferred
Foreign language skills in French, Arabic, or Spanish desired
International travel and cross cultural experience desired
