Job Description

Performs complex BIM or Plant Data Centric assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms, such as Revit, Intergraph SmartPlant, Plant 3D, etc. software, to achieve set results and deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works under general supervision.

  • Provides training and technical support to design staff on the Building Information Modeling system, which provides 3D models using project specifications and content.

  • Direct project support and production to assigned projects and create the drawings as required using the standards and content to meet the job requirements (objects within the drawing, doors, lights, etc.).

  • Develops and maintains HVAC BIM standards and best practices for the organization.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems in BIM models.

  • Performs quality control checks on BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Conducts clash detection analyses and resolves conflicts between HVAC systems and other building components.

  • Participates in client meetings to present BIM solutions and address technical inquiries.

  • Mentors junior designers and provides guidance on complex HVAC BIM projects.

  • Stays current with industry trends, new technologies, and software updates related to HVAC BIM.

  • Assists in the development of project proposals and cost estimates for HVAC BIM services.

  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of BIM processes and workflows within the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and Building Information Modeling (BIM)

  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM software

  • Thorough understanding of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards

  • Experience with clash detection and coordination in BIM environments

  • Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient HVAC solutions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring junior designers
