Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
Prepares technical specification sections
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
Leads and mentors junior engineers and technicians in electrical design principles and best practices
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other engineering disciplines
Develops and implements innovative solutions to complex electrical engineering challenges
Ensures compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Conducts feasibility studies and risk assessments for new electrical design projects
Represents the company in technical forums and industry conferences related to electrical engineering
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering
Extensive experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or similar tools
Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant industry standards
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex electrical engineering projects
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Experience in developing and reviewing technical specifications and construction documents
Familiarity with energy-efficient design principles and sustainable engineering practices
Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Additional certifications such as LEED AP, CEM, or PMP
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
Knowledge of emerging technologies in electrical engineering, such as smart grid systems or renewable energy integration
