Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Co-op to be based in Boston, MA .
This position is expected to begin in January 2025.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assist with report writing and setup.
Development of field forms.
Assist with data entry, editing and creation of drawings and table/charts.
Development of plans and details utilizing CAD.
Development of engineering calculations utilizing examples and guidance of senior engineers.
Support senior and junior engineers with engineering related tasks.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Excel and MS Word.
Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD is a plus.
Experience with MathCAD is a plus.
Experience with modelling software is a plus.
Coursework in structural engineering, with a focus on bridge design and analysis.
Knowledge of bridge design codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications).
Familiarity with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro.
Previous internship or project experience related to bridge engineering.
Active participation in relevant student organizations (e.g., ASCE Student Chapter).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Boston, MA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Boston, MA on a scheduled basis.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $22.00/hour - $25.00/hour.
