Job Description

Working from within the Strategic Pursuit team with close connection to the First Nations Engagement team as the First Nations Strategic Pursuits Lead, your primary responsibility will be to bring First Nations expertise to AECOM’s strategic pursuits, in compliance with client requirements, resulting in AECOM projects that are culturally informed and deliver improved social value outcomes for First Nations communities.

Working at all times to care for Country, your work will enable the preparation of strategic pursuits and delivery of projects that maintain cultural integrity and improve the lives of the people from the communities in which we work.

  • Work as a First Nations Subject Matter Expert in support of bid preparation for AECOM Australia, including developing and maintaining relationships with First Nations suppliers, training providers and employment agencies.

  • Maintain the probity of First Nations intellectual and cultural property as it is embedded into AECOM Australia workstreams.

  • Maintain consistency of approach to the reconciliation goals of the organisation and be an advocate for First Nations Engagement Team agenda including RAP Pillars

Qualifications

  • High level of cultural competency and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.

  • Established stakeholder engagement skills with a variety of stakeholders

  • Exposure to Indigenous Procurement Plans

  • Exposure to Indigenous Participation Plans

  • Working knowledge of Aboriginal Land Councils, Aboriginal Corporations, Native Title legislation, First Nations procurement, Reconciliation Action Plans

  • To perform this role, it is essential that the person identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
