Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Team Lead to lead and manage a dedicated team responsible for delivering electrical design solutions for large-scale industrial projects, such as wastewater treatment plants, energy facilities, and other critical infrastructure including dry utilities. This role requires a strong leader with excellent project management skills who can ensure the team's success by coordinating workflows, overseeing quality, and facilitating clear communication. Candidates should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the daily activities of a single, dedicated design team, setting goals, managing workloads, and supporting team members to deliver high-quality electrical designs for industrial facilities.

  • Serve as the primary contact for project stakeholders, including clients and internal departments, ensuring clear communication of team progress, project expectations, and milestones.

  • Develop and implement project timelines and budgets for the team, ensuring adherence to schedules and proactive management of any project challenges.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards by conducting regular design reviews, ensuring team output meets client requirements and regulatory codes.

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering professional growth and promoting a collaborative, positive team environment.

  • Work closely with other department leads (e.g., structural, architectural) to coordinate efforts and ensure efficient integration of electrical design with other project elements.

  • Facilitate the team’s effective use of design tools, ensuring consistency and accuracy in project documentation.

  • Identify and implement process improvements within the team to drive efficiency, consistency, and innovation in design practices.

  • Provide regular project status updates and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders, addressing potential issues promptly to keep the team on track.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in working as a senior engineer and preferably experience in supervising or managing a design team, ideally within industrial project sectors such as energy or wastewater treatment.

  • Proven leadership skills with a background in managing a focused, single-team environment, coordinating closely to meet project timelines and goals.

  • Familiarity with electrical design principles, particularly for low and medium voltage systems and dry utilities, with the ability to conduct high-level technical reviews.

  • Strong understanding of design software and project management tools, with a focus on guiding team usage rather than direct execution.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, able to maintain oversight of deadlines and quality control for the team’s output.

  • A results-driven and collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement in design processes and team development.

  • A university degree is required.
