Job Description

AECOM Canada is seeking a Civil Specialist for a casual position based in Calgary.

The Civil Specialist will be entrusted with the following critical responsibilities:

  • Function as an expert professional within specific domains of civil engineering.

  • Develop and modify designs, perform complex calculations, and create detailed sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and working drawings under general supervision.

  • Independently formulate and evaluate alternative technical solutions and design options to support the project team, including conducting comprehensive research, performing rigorous code reviews, and addressing a wide range of complex problems.

  • Analyze and implement the findings from reports, professional opinions, and recommendations to effectively address design challenges and opportunities.

  • Spearhead the development and execution of innovative design ideas and solutions.

  • Assume responsibility for clear and effective communication and collaboration with the entire design team and client.

  • Oversee and coordinate technical work for projects commensurate with experience level.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of professional services marketing strategies.

  • Develop and lead the technical approach and criteria for design elements, and coordinate intricate work processes.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Quality Assurance Procedures.

  • When required, sign and seal official documents, including drawings, with full professional accountability.

  • Collaborate closely with clients and both internal and external project teams to successfully execute projects from initial concept through to final completion.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $38.46/hour - $52.88/hour.
