Job Description
AECOM Canada is seeking a Civil Specialist for a casual position based in Calgary.
The Civil Specialist will be entrusted with the following critical responsibilities:
Function as an expert professional within specific domains of civil engineering.
Develop and modify designs, perform complex calculations, and create detailed sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and working drawings under general supervision.
Independently formulate and evaluate alternative technical solutions and design options to support the project team, including conducting comprehensive research, performing rigorous code reviews, and addressing a wide range of complex problems.
Analyze and implement the findings from reports, professional opinions, and recommendations to effectively address design challenges and opportunities.
Spearhead the development and execution of innovative design ideas and solutions.
Assume responsibility for clear and effective communication and collaboration with the entire design team and client.
Oversee and coordinate technical work for projects commensurate with experience level.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of professional services marketing strategies.
Develop and lead the technical approach and criteria for design elements, and coordinate intricate work processes.
Ensure strict adherence to Quality Assurance Procedures.
When required, sign and seal official documents, including drawings, with full professional accountability.
Collaborate closely with clients and both internal and external project teams to successfully execute projects from initial concept through to final completion.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $38.46/hour - $52.88/hour.
