Job Description
AECOM is searching for a Wastewater Group Manager for a full-time position based in our Calgary, AB office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
People Management Activities
Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for the Calgary wastewater process team with support from a senior group manager.
Maintains contact with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
Technical Responsibilities
Leads and supports multiple projects for the delivery of infrastructure to customers predominantly within the wastewater sector.
Has multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. Prepares engineering design reports and memoranda, facility manuals, permitting and approvals applications, specification writing. Process Control Narrative development, cost estimating, etc.
Provides detailed calculations for wastewater processes
Prepares technical specifications and detailed design Provides construction support, site inspections and commissioning
Provides technical mentorship to junior staff
Project Management and Business Development Responsibilities
Manages wastewater projects that include multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including structural, architectural, building, mechanical, process mechanical, I&C, electrical etc
Provides clear and focused leadership on all project functions related to project management, project control, design and engineering management, and construction management to meet the Clients and AECOM’s overall goals
Effectively maintains and develops a healthy Client relationship throughout the project execution and project close-out
Fosters the team environment that supports AECOM's Client focus, where employees meet the expectations, requirements, and agreements of our Clients.
Defines project scope, goals, deliverables, quality and compliance requirements
Ensures compliance with AECOM's and the Client's quality policies and procedures
Develops detailed work breakdown structures and project execution plans from preliminary design to contract administration
Supports with the planning and preparation of accurate fee estimates to complete projects as well as baseline cash and financial performance indicators for future project control
Manages planning and scheduling of project deliverables and the development of schedules for design and contract administration
Develops an execution plan that allows work to be completed in logical sequences, monitors design activities, manages inter-discipline data flow and communication, and manages the introduction of design changes
Leads and supports design meetings, workshops and decision making with Clients and interdisciplinary design team members
Ensures strict compliance with the Client's and AECOM's safety policies and procedures
Uses a full range of available communication mediums to engage and solicit inputs from key stakeholders on each project
Proactively resolves performance, scope, cost and schedule issues
Monitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders
Ensures accurate and timely preparation of engineering and financial status reports to our Clients
Consistently delivers on each project to achieve top-tier industry benchmarks for quality, overall project delivery and project financials
Prepares proposal capture plans and proposal documents
Provides business development including seeking out new opportunities and enhancing existing projects
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering or relevant engineering field
8+ years of Technical Experience, Project Management, Design and Construction experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants and related infrastructure
Registered P.Eng in Alberta
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Certification such as PMP, CCE, PgMP or related certifications
Proficient in common desktop packages i.e Word, Excel, MS Project and MS Powerpoint
Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
Motivated, team player. Independent, organized with strong business acumen
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $130,000.00 - $180,000.00.
