Job Description

AECOM is currently looking for an experienced Senior Lead Geologistto join our team to support, and help capture, a variety of complex environmental projects within the region. The position will be based in the New England area of the United States.

We are seeking candidates who will be able to contribute to the delivery of all phases of existing projects and development of creative solutions for new projects. AECOM conducts activities for utilities, industrial, commercial, federal, and state clients.

This position calls for excellent organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and incorporate new skills. We seek a candidate with the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively with members of the project team (clients, regulators, office and site personnel). The successful candidate will also be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Senior project support for environmental investigation and remediation projects in a technical, project management and/or regulatory capacity.

  • Leading and managing all size of projects, including long-term, large projects that have high risk reward, are of high strategic value, and/or have a high level of complexity.

  • Providing project level technical leadership and strategic direction.

  • Championing ethical and safe working practices.

  • Development of strategic proposals and budgets in support of work opportunities.

  • Working with the Program Manager and Senior Practice Leaders to enhance business growth.

  • Foster client satisfaction including maintaining good client relationships and client development.

  • Identifying risk and pro-actively takes actions to positively impact project outcomes.

  • Contributing to project team development strategy, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans.

  • Accountable for overall project financial success and delivery

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening

  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening

  • Travel is required for this position per management discretion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field

  • 11+ years demonstrated experience conducting and preparing activities and deliverables

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

  • LSP certification (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment)

  • Strong technical capability across all phases environmental of work.

  • Has significant experience with programmatic delivery.

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of expertise in applicable technical areas and is frequently called on by clients and peers to position or deliver complex programs.

  • Detailed understanding of the competencies needed for success on complex projects and can critically evaluate and apply the competencies,

  • Professional Licensure (e.g., PE, LSP, PG).

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 - $165,000.00.
