Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Transit-Rail Project Manager to join our Chicago office.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead transit/rail projects for our key clients in the Chicago region, with an emphasis on working for the CTA. Additional project opportunities would be expected with Metra and Amtrak. Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate technical experience in heavy rail (HRT) track design. The objective of the position is to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to complete the design of transit rail, systems and station enhancements. . In addition, it is expected that the successful candidate in this position will closely collaborate with planning, civil/roadway, structural, and architectural design teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as an engineering project manager for transit-rail design assignments with Chicago region clients

  • Lead track & civil design for major infrastructure projects

  • Guide and collaborate with other design disciplines

  • Be a visible leader and participate in engineering staff mentorship and development

  • Establish and/or maintain client relationships with Chicago area transit agencies

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field

  • PE license in Illinois (or ability to obtain)

  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in managing civil track design projects

  • Experience and familiarity working on CTA projects

  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley InRoads / OpenRoads / OpenRail

  • Working knowledge of design requirements for rail systems (e.g. traction power, catenary, signals).

  • Working knowledge of track structure design principles and special trackwork details

  • Ability to scope/estimate complex projects

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interaction

  • Ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this role

Additional Information

  • AECOM is interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. (Current U.S. H1B work visa holders) Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.

  • Occasional project site travel required.

  • Relocation is available for this role.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 - $260,000.00.
