The Role
AECOM’s Christchurch office is looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Transport team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with our experienced team to leverage your engineering and analytical skills, delivering innovative solutions for a wide range of Transport and Civil Infrastructure projects. Projects include State Highway upgrades for NZTA, Aviation, Local councils, renewable energy infrastructure as well as supporting national teams on major infrastructure projects.

As a Civil Engineer at AECOM, you will be driven and eager to expand your career by engaging in diverse, multidisciplinary Transport projects. We value a well-rounded approach to civil engineering, offering an environment where you can grow your technical expertise and leadership skills.
What will a day in this role look like:
Manage projects, from setup through to close out of delivery. Including developing and managing project budgets, resourcing and ensuring quality control processes are followed.
Provide design guidance and mentoring to help deliver projects and develop the team.
Undertake client-facing roles on projects, providing project updates, understanding clients concerns and address any project issues.
Support the preparation of proposals and business development activities.
Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status (or working towards it).
Proven experience in leading small to medium-sized projects, ideally within consulting or government sectors.
Familiarity with Geometric design tools such as OpenRoads or Civil 3D (preferred).
Strong knowledge of transport design and construction quality assurance processes.
