AECOM Entry Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Columbus, Ohio

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an entry-level Instrumentation and Control Systems (I&C) Engineer for immediate employment in our Columbus, OH office, supporting and working on the design, construction administration, and implementation of utility projects such as water and wastewater treatment facilities as well as pumping systems.

  • This position will involve a variety of new and renovations to existing water and wastewater systems for governmental, commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.

  • Work under the supervision of a senior-level team member from the Columbus Water I&C team.

  • Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) in coordination with water/wastewater process engineers.

  • Design control system architecture using a variety of technologies including Ethernet, fiber optic networks, radio, programmable controllers, and distributed control systems. Develop drawings to convey the design.

  • Generate contract specifications including data sheets for process instrumentation and control system hardware.

  • Write detailed control narratives for full plant operation.

  • Develop technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections, and details.

  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.

  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Minimum Requirements

BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering+ demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
