Job Description

Ready to build the future, one structure at a time? AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer II to join our team in Denver, CO or Columbus, OH.

  • Embark on exciting engineering quests, tackling specific portions of broader assignments like a puzzle master!

  • Dive into the world of calculations and tests, making routine engineering tasks feel like a thrilling adventure.

  • Play "spot the difference" with engineering results, identifying discrepancies like a pro.

  • Be a guiding light for entry-level engineers, sharing your wisdom and experience.

  • Juggle budgets and schedules with the finesse of a circus performer, all while under moderate supervision.

But wait, there's more! As our Structural Engineer II, you'll:

  • Get your hands dirty with a smorgasbord of projects from entertainment to government, and everything in between.

  • Team up with seasoned engineers on large projects, while also taking the reins on smaller structural design projects.

  • Become the captain of your own ship, managing small to medium-sized projects independently.

Your daily adventures will include:

  • Flexing your mental muscles with structural analysis and design

  • Playing matchmaker between different design disciplines and preparing contract documents

  • Donning your hard hat for some hands-on construction administration

  • Channeling your inner Shakespeare to craft compelling structural reports, assessments, and studies

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering from and ABET accredited university or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • US Citizenship required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master of Science (with structural engineering concentration)

  • Engineer in Training Certification

  • Demonstrated experience applying all major structural design codes.

  • Demonstrated experience using 3-D structural analysis software. (examples include ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, and SAFE)

  • Experience designing in Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Timber (CLT)

  • Experience with Wind and Seismic lateral design

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,

  • Demonstrated experience in use of REVIT/AutoCAD to provide production support as a portion of team support and development

  • Experience with performance-based design

  • Experience with ASCE 41 for retrofit of existing structures

Additional Information

  • Hybrid work environment – Fully remote position not available.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $68,786.88 - $89,581.96.
