Job Description

AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Water Resources Growth Lead to drive innovation, growth, and technical excellence for surface water activities across our Pacific West Water Business Line. This senior-level leadership position requires an accomplished professional with proven engineering expertise and the ability to successfully drive business development.

As the Water Resources Growth Lead you will serve as a strategic lead coordinating with regional business line leaders, market sector leads, and a wide range of professionals throughout AECOM. This role combines technical leadership, business development, client relationship management, and team development to expand AECOM's water resources market presence and delivery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Drive growth of the Surface Water practice across multiple US regions, focusing on municipal, industrial, and federal market sectors

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans that align with AECOM's technical capabilities and market opportunities

  • Lead pursuit development and provide oversight of capture plans for major surface water opportunities

  • Anticipate market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in surface water management

  • Coordinate with Technical Practice leaders to align skills development with market demands

Technical Excellence & Project Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for complex surface water engineering projects including:

  • Surface water treatment plant design and optimization

  • Raw water intake systems and pump stations

  • Water conveyance and distribution systems

  • Reservoir and watershed management

  • Water quality modeling and assessment

  • Regulatory compliance and permitting

  • Serve as technical lead directing and executing work related to surface water treatment and conveyance

  • Support training and professional development of technical staff

  • Ensure adherence to AECOM's quality standards and technical excellence initiatives

Client Relations & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients including municipal water utilities, industrial clients, federal agencies, and private developers

  • Serve as primary client interface for strategic surface water accounts

  • Lead client engagement activities including technical presentations, workshops, and industry conference participation

  • Develop major pursuits and oversee proposal development that showcases AECOM's technical capabilities

  • Represent AECOM at industry conferences, technical committees, and professional organizations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years of relevant experience related to engineering for water projects

  • Master's degree in Engineering or MBA

  • Experience with Design-Build or Progressive Design-Build project delivery

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Proven Business Development success

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 - $220,000.00.
