Job Description

Are you a passionate graduate looking to kickstart your career in electrical engineering and contribute to innovative building designs? Join our prestigious Graduate Program as a Graduate Electrical Engineer within our Building Engineering team. This role offers a dynamic environment where you will grow and develop alongside experienced professionals.

Role Overview

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience in an engineering design setting, working on diverse Buildings projects such as hotels, retail centers, sporting venues, commercial towers and so much more under the mentorship of senior team members. Your role will focus on Building Electrical Design, BIM Model and Drawing production, ensuring design brief compliance, completeness, and accuracy, particularly in power distribution, lighting, and communications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, monitor, and inspect electrical systems including low voltage power, lighting, fire alarms, and communication networks using software

  • Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient technologies such as LED lighting, smart metering, and solar PV systems to enhance building performance.

  • Engage in building design coordination, leveraging BIM platforms to collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and stakeholders throughout project phases.

  • Given that electrical systems are essential to the operation, safety, and efficiency of modern buildings, electrical engineers play a critical role in shaping sustainable, intelligent environments. By applying innovative design solutions, you will help drive the future of smart, resilient, and energy-conscious infrastructure.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with analytical software is a plus.

  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited, internationally recognized Institute or University.

  • Must be a 2024 or 2025 graduate.

  • Available to start in May or June 2025.

  • A strong passion for learning, professional growth, and contributing to AECOM’s Emiratisation initiatives through the Fursa Program.

  • Eligibility: As part of AECOM’s commitment to Emiratisation and in compliance with UAE labor law, only UAE Nationals with a family book will be considered for this role.
