Job Description

AECOM Calgary is hiring an Engineering Design Coordinator, Alternative Delivery.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works under the direction of the Alternative Delivery design quality team Manager.

  • Writes quality plans, procedures and audit checklists. Updates audit results in AECOM’s audit database.

  • Verifies quality standards and test procedures for the design and product evaluation to attain quality economically and efficiently.

  • Provides quality assurance support to ensure that products are acquired and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.

  • Ensure sampling plans, quality standards and quality control instructions are utilized in assessing the quality levels of projects and processes.

  • Documents evaluation, testing and correction.

  • Provides recommendations concerning the disposition of defective materials and maintains a continuous awareness of quality problems.

  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

  • Under general supervision, possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult assignments.

  • Completes assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.

  • Works on local design projects or projects across Canada.

  • May provide technical guidance to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering + a minimum of 2 years experience in transportation projects (construction, design, etc.)

Preferred qualifications:

Ideally 4+ years experience in construction

Familiarity with design software: CAD, Revit, etc.

Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications.

PEng is ideal.

Attention to detail.

Ability to review and multitask a large amount of documentation, reports, design models, drawings, etc.

Ability to collaborate with multiple people in different offices and time zones on design review efforts.

Data processing experience and ability to forecast trends.

Good communicator. Willing to lead presentations and training.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $102,000.00.
