Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Essen, Germany. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead and manage complex geotechnical projects, providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to challenging soil and foundation issues.
Manage and oversee large-scale geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion
Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses, including soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability assessments
Develop and review geotechnical reports, technical specifications, and design recommendations
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development
Ensure compliance with local and international geotechnical standards and regulations
Participate in business development activities and client meetings to secure new projects
Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in the field of geotechnical engineering
Qualifications
Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field
Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent German certification
Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects
Advanced knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability analysis
Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS and GeoStudio
Strong skills in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports
Expertise in local and international geotechnical standards and regulations
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Fluency in English and German
