AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm is currently seeking Instrumentation Technician Journeymen to join our OilSands project sites in Fort McMurray, AB and surrounding areas. This is a temporary role.
Project Details: Various Outages for Spring 2019
Shutdowns / Outages : Starts in Mid-April 2019
Location : Fort McMurray, AB and surrounding areas
Travel : Charter flights are provided from Calgary and Edmonton, and shuttle services from Fort McMurray or Surrounding areas
Accommodations : Camp accommodations are provided
Shift and Work Hours : Varies
Duration : Varies
Overtime Eligibility : This position is overtime eligible
This position will install, maintain and repair the measuring and control devices used in industrial and commercial processing. Instrument technicians will also work with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer devices used to measure and control pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.
May include the following responsibilities:
Be able to take directions, and receptive to training and mentoring.
Proficiently identify and work with various material components.
Expert tubing skills.
Expert in pneumatic, electronic and micro-computer instrument operation.
Expert in device identification and installation.
Expertly read and comprehend drawings and specifications.
Expert tool usage, both personal (personal tools minimum listed below) and supplied:
Water pump pliers
Needle nose pliers
#6 screwdriver – Robertson
#8 screwdriver – Robertson
Small flat screwdriver
Large flat screwdriver
½ - 1 ¼ KO cutters
3/8 socket set
Open end wrench to 1”
Allan wrench set
14” Pipe wrench
¼” and 3/8” tubing benders
Expert level calibration knowledge.
Expert knowledge of multiple control installations.
Implement safe work practices and procedures.
Maintain exceptional workmanship habits.
Expert in the usage of various calibration meters and measurement devices.
Expert knowledge of Hazardous location requirements.
Mentor junior apprentices.
Journeyman Certification. Please note, Red Seal preferred or required by provincial regulations and standards.
CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) or PST (Petroleum Safety Training) Certification.
Industrial construction experience is preferred
H2S Alive certification
First Aid - Standard Level C Certification.
2-3 Years of experience in Turnarounds, Shutdowns and/or Outages
