Job Description
AECOM’s Cost Management Team has an opportunity in Southeast QLD for an experienced estimator / cost manager to join the team, working on a variety of Civil Infrastructure projects.
How you'll make a difference:
Lead and oversee cost management and quantity surveying services for large-scale infrastructure projects throughout Queensland, with a focus on TMR road and transport projects, mining and water infrastructure.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of junior and mid-level professionals, fostering development and ensuring delivery excellence.
Manage all aspects of project cost planning from early feasibility through to delivery, including cost estimating, value engineering, risk assessment, whole-of-life costing, and capital expenditure advice.
Build strong and trusted relationships with clients, offering strategic commercial advice and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at AECOM to guide key decision-making across the project lifecycle.
Qualifications

The qualities that help you thrive:
Ideally, 15+ years’ post-graduate experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or estimating, with a strong record of delivering complex infrastructure projects (including TMR and civil infrastructure such as roads, bridges, dams, pipelines, and transport hubs).
Proven leadership in client-facing roles with excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills coupled with a solid understanding of Australian construction contracts, procurement strategies, and industry standards.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Engineering, ideally with AIQS or RICS accreditation.
Advanced proficiency in Expert Estimation with familiarity in Microsoft Project P6, CostX, and @Risk highly advantageous.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior staff and contributing to business growth through client engagement and proposal development.
