AECOM Entry Level GIS/Mapping Specialist in Germantown, Maryland

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented GIS/Mapping Specialist for immediate employment in the Germantown, MD office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to working on a team that employs over 40 engineers, GIS/Mapping specialists, and project managers to perform a variety of water resources projects including floodplain analysis and mapping, watershed analysis, dam hydrology and hydraulics, and stormwater management analysis and design.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • GIS analysis and map production for a wide variety of engineering projects, primarily related to water resources

  • Database administration and design using both geospatial and non-spatial data

  • Computer modeling and GIS work related to flooding per FEMA guidelines and standards

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Geography or other similar field with emphasis in programming

  • Programming/Python

  • Database administration and design

  • AutoCAD experience

  • Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) , knowledge of Esri products

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
