Job Description
The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Concrete Quality Control Tester to join our team for a large-scale transportation project in Marshall, Michigan . The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing concrete materials and making sure they meet the required standards and specifications. The Concrete QC Tester will collaborate closely with the project managers, engineers and contractors to maintain high quality construction practices.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Concrete Testing & Inspection: Perform routine inspections and testing of concrete at various stages of construction, including material delivery, mixing, placement, and finishing.
Verify that all concrete mixes, components, and placement methods comply with project specifications, ASTM standards, and local building codes.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of concrete tests, inspections, and observations. Prepare daily reports, test results, and quality control documentation for review by project management.
Non-Conformance Management: Identify and report non-conformance issues, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure that all quality standards are upheld throughout the project.
Collaborative Coordination: Work alongside project managers, engineers, and contractors to troubleshoot concrete-related issues and provide quality control solutions.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment during all concrete-related activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and or education.
Valid DMV license.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
Weekend and night work will be required
Overnight travel within the state may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience in concrete quality control or MDOT/other state DOT or local agency construction inspection, preferably in transportation or infrastructure projects; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
Certification: Relevant certifications in concrete testing (i.e. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, or equivalent) are required.
Basic understanding of construction principles and practices
Ability to document any and all relevant events, issues and variances
Good active written and verbal communication with construction personnel and engineers
Ability to perform basic computations and calculations
Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
Additional Information
- Sponsership is not available for this role.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $21.54/hour - $37.67/hour.
