The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- BA/BS relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, geology or any scientific related field)+ demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, geology or any scientific related field)
Knowledge of environmental data collection, identification, investigation, and data entry
1-2 years of professional experience performing environmental activities (storm water inspections, storage tank inspections, Phase I Site Assessments, hazardous waste management, air quality permitting, etc.)
Experience reading and interpreting environmental regulations
Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time
Experience with Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14001
Experience conducting environmental, health, or safety audits or inspections
40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training
Formal training in environmental or safety program areas such as Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, etc.
Strong technical writer familiar with writing and updating storm water pollution prevention plans; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) plans; and associated reports
Method 9 visible emissions certification
