Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced BIM-VDC Senior Consultant to join our growing digital transformation team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in BIM implementation, project coordination, and team leadership across major construction projects.

AECOM Canada is a Centre of Excellence for the delivery of Alternative Delivery projects in North America and is participating in numerous major projects in Canada, either as the Owner’s Engineer/Technical Advisor or as the Constructor's Engineer of Record during execution and implementation of the project. We are seeking to add a member to our digital team and take on a specialized role in the delivery of our major hydroelectric projects across Canada.

The role will present the opportunity to collaborate with our wider Canada Region Digital team primarelly in the Water Business line across Canada and with other business lines to advance and re-enforce AECOM’s global digital strategies within the Canadian Region.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a positive attitude, is customer focused, a critical thinker with problem solver approach and ready to apply and sharing ideas utilizing principles and methods for AEC Design and Digital Consulting projects.

Position Overview: As a BIM-VDC Senior Consultant, you will lead the implementation and coordination of Building Information Modeling (BIM) initiatives across complex construction projects. This role combines technical expertise with team leadership and strategic planning to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead BIM implementation and coordination for major construction projects, with a focus on hydroelectric projects;

  • Provide expert guidance in Civil & Structure, MEP systems, heavy mechanical and infrastructure coordination;

  • Manage and mentor cross-functional BIM teams across multiple concurrent projects;

  • Develop and maintain BIM execution plans and workflows;

  • Oversee CDE (Common Data Environment) implementation and management;

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices;

  • Coordinate between multiple stakeholders including engineers, architects and contractors;

  • Implement and manage OpenBIM solutions and advanced digital platforms.

Qualifications

echnical Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with multiple BIM platforms including minimum 3 of the following list:

  • Navisworks

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

  • OpenBIM solutions

  • ProjectWise

  • 3DExperience

  • Revit or Microstation

  • Proven expertise in BIM/VDC implementation methodologies

  • Experience with project management platforms (Procore, ProjectWise, etc)

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, structural and architectural coordination

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any design and construction discipline such as Architecture, Structural Engineering;

  • 6 years of experience in BIM/VDC consulting and implementation;

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating BIM modeling in large-scale projects

  • Fluency in English, oral and written;

  • Experience in training and mentoring technical teams.

Leadership Competencies:

  • Proven ability to lead multiple project teams simultaneously;

  • Strong coordination and communication skills across disciplines;

  • Experience in developing and implementing BIM standards;

  • Teaching/training experience in technical subjects;

  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a proven track record of successful project delivery in the BIM/VDC space. Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $120,000.00.
