AECOM is growing and we are looking for a solutions focused Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our established Building Services team. In this role, you will provide specialist mechanical design solutions and offer expert technical advice to our clients on a diverse range of projects.

You will bring together business, commercial and technical skills, constantly balancing risk and opportunity in those areas to achieve the value and reward AECOM, our employees and our clients seek from us.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Providing specialised technical input to studies and design in specific area of expertise.

  • Developing study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.

  • Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Using expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

  • Quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Preparing technical specification sections.

  • Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Bachelor degree in relevant discipline i.e. mechanical engineering.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Chartered member of relevant professional body is preferred.

  • Successful track record as a mechanical engineer with significant project. experience and knowledge of relevant design and construction processes.

  • Respected in the business community and/or engineering consulting industry.
