Job Description

AECOM is seeking a dependable and organized Survey Party Chief / Crew Chief for our Hunt Valley, MD office. This individual will work on a wide variety of transportation projects throughout Maryland and the surrounding States.

Summary:

  • Manage and perform field survey crew day to day operations

  • Maintain schedule and budget requirements of assigned tasks

  • Monitor and maintain survey equipment assigned to crew

  • Coordinate and interact with survey team, chief of surveys, project managers and clients

  • Participate in QA/QC process of survey field efforts

  • Perform SHA and public sector work

  • Will work on ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys

  • Will perform topographic and metes and bounds surveys

  • Will establish control networks with various methodologies

  • Will work with robotic total stations, GPS equipment and Leica Scanners

  • Perform "bookwork" and maintain accurate field records

  • Work on roadway, highway and similar projects

  • This role will be responsible for driving you and your crew to job sites and will keep track of company vehicle mileage and maintenance

  • May be asked to perform out of town work at times. Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Work occasional night shifts as needed for specific projects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of survey experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Crew Chief/Party Chief

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License, and as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

Preferred Requirements:

  • DOT (Department of Transportation) Experience

  • Experience and/or willingness to perform SHA and public sector work

  • Must have "team" attitude and good communication skills

  • Ability to adapt and respond to situations should they arise

  • Ability and willingness to travel out of town up to 50% of the time

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $28.00/hour - $40.00 /hour.
