Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Land Development Engineering Intern to join us at the Kitchener, Ontario location.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work within a design team to assist private infrastructure projects for residential subdivisions and industrial/commercial developments. Specific tasks include the design of new roads, upgrades/modifications to existing roads, and design of infrastructure components such as sewage collection, water distribution, site grading, earthworks, and stormwater management.

  • Opportunity to assist various site and land development projects

  • Attend project coordination meetings and liaison with various public and private stakeholders

  • Assist with the design of storm and sanitary sewers, water supply systems, roads, and site grading with creative emphasis to come up with design alternatives and propose value engineering

  • Support the Contract Administration department as required including shop drawing reviews

  • Preparation of Letter of Credit (LC) calculations and subsequent letters including tracking all LC reductions

  • Assist in designing municipal infrastructure including plans, profiles, sections, earthworks calculations, and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and BIM Software

  • Working on complex data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff

  • Assure that engineering-related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follow-up to ensure timeliness of resolution efforts

  • Ensure overall data quality and integrity

  • Assist with redlines/revisions for in-progress and completed designs.

  • Ability to effectively manage design time and coordination to deliver projects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must currently be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $20.00/hour - $25.00/hour.
