Job Description

AECOM has excellent career opportunities for a creative, highly talented Project Manager with experience in linear works. Based in Lima, the PM will lead and manage all railway and metro projects in Peru, managing the technical and administrative resources and activities required for the successful accomplishment of project goals and objectives. This position will report directly to the Peru Transportation Director.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Participates in the selection of consultants and preparation of AECOM qualification/experience statements.

  • Promotes a culture of collaboration between the different technical and management teams throughout the project.

  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional services agreements and addenda for review by senior management.

  • Leads the project team and client compliance with contractual terms and oversees subcontractors’ compliance with contractual commitments.

  • Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule and budget and communicates them to project team members; oversees and manages project production to ensure adherence to schedule, budget and quality objectives.

  • Supervises technical professionals, associate project managers and design staff, including workload management and staffing.

  • Monitors and reports on the financial status of the project to the line and country manager.

  • Responsible for leading railway technical teams, with proven ability to find creative solutions to problems requiring design optimization and project supervision services.

  • Reviews project technical documents and other design deliverables to ensure optimum quality and on-time delivery.

  • Plans complex railway projects, develops programs, establishes and manages acquisition, working capital and financial performance plans.

  • Ensures that projects are executed according to plan and budget.

  • Becomes familiar with the operation of the company and the business economic environment.

  • It reports any problems faced by the company while anticipating and preventing unexpected situations.

  • Acts as project leader while being involved in the details of the job.

  • Takes a proactive approach to help the company solve problems.

  • Responsible for the accounting interface to ensure timely and accurate preparation and upload of estimates at the time of project completion (EAC).

  • Validates the accuracy of project revenue recognition at the end of each month.

  • Coordinates responses to client audit requests.

  • Reviews significant project results and variances with the project accounting team.

  • Responsible for driving working capital management and reporting, by achieving cash flow targets, participating in capital expenditures and seeking cost effective solutions to ultimately instill a treasury culture.

  • He directs and manages all design entrusted to AECOM, guides his subordinates, enforces company and project policies, and is the main liaison between AECOM and its partner.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all facets of the project are carried out in accordance with Peruvian government regulations and international best practices; responsible for scope identification; responsible for the preparation, approval and management of the budget, project schedule and risk management.

  • Overall responsibility and management of the project, including, but not limited to, proposal development, staffing phase, subcontracting of work, production of equipment, coordination between teams, quality of work received and delivered to the client, and contract closure.

  • He is the main economic-financial responsible of the project, the key link with the project partner and the visible face of AECOM before the final client.

  • Reports to country management and Latin America management, whether requested or necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with more than 6 years of experience, including at least 5 years in positions of responsibility in railway and/or metro team management and project management.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English are a must.

  • Able to develop, integrate and budget proposals for road projects, requesting specific support from technical teams when necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with master’s degree in civil engineering with 10 years of experience including at least 5 years in positions of responsibility in railway and/or metro team management and project management
