Job Description
Our Team in London consists of 130 cost managers, working across various sectors and is part of our wider 500 strong UK+I Cost Management team.
We are friendly, busy and motivated with an established track record of successfully delivering local and overseas projects.
Some of our flagship work in recent years include;
No1 Undershaft, Bloomberg HQ, The Shard, Soho Place, 100 Bishopsgate, White Collar Factory, Battersea Power Station Phase 3, Greenwich Peninsula, Apple HQ, Tate Modern, working with Clients such as Derwent London, Land Securities, British Land, Knight Dragon and Sellar in London to name but a few.
As a Project Director working within the wider team, you will lead and deliver in all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from project inception to completion.
You will be primarily working alongside other Directors to successfully manage, grow and deliver cost management duties on various projects across London and some international clients. The role will entail direct client liaising, acting as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and are specifically responsible for business development / winning new commissions/marketing objectives.
The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from a cost management perspective. You should possess the skills and experience to actively lead and support the internal team, manage and mentor staff on individual projects as well as technically complex projects, typically £100m + (construction cost); taking overall responsibility for their successful delivery.
Other responsibilities include:
To provide oversight / strategic guidance /audit & review, to a portfolio of projects being led within the London, the South East of England and beyond.
Help develop collaborative relationships with our existing clients and other professional colleagues within the industry.
Demonstrate an ability and desire to obtain an increased understanding of a client’s business, demonstrating client focus.
You will be connected, organised and self-motivated, being able to successfully work with minimum supervision.
Successful delivery of projects, ensuring tasks on projects are resourced, managed and completed efficiently, on time and with a keen desire to maintain client’s satisfaction leading to continued and further business.
Day to day main client point of contact for projects.
Be enquiring, proactive and challenge where appropriate our own existing methods/processes to demonstrate value for money to the client.
Qualifications
Residential experience with developers
Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors.
Good working knowledge & understanding of JCT suite of contracts, particularly the Professional Services
Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
Experience of working as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams
Prior line-management experience
Work-winning with new and repeat clients
