Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced CAD Specialist to be based in Los Angeles, CA for Rail and Transit Division, West Coast Region.
JOB INFORMATION:
The position is to support significant transit and rail projects in the Greater Los Angeles area and the West Coast Region providing exceptional opportunity for professional growth.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparing engineering drawings for transit and rail infrastructure projects with AutoCAD / Civil 3D.
Preparing plan, profile, grading, cross-sections, surface design from concept to final.
Understanding local regional public and transit design guidelines as well as client and regulatory standards and requirements.
Incorporating topographic surveys into the design and as-built surveys into record drawings.
Providing technical assistance and input on linear infrastructure projects, including rehabilitation projects.
Working collaboratively with Project Engineers, Technologists and Project Managers to assist in planning, design, AutoCAD/Civil 3D drafting, and preparation of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates in connection with a variety of civil engineering projects.
Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, and/or code requirements.
Performs applications, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.
Digitizes or traces sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
Mentor junior drafters and engineers in CADD.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience OR an AA/AS (US) + 6 years of relevant experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Optional knowledge of Revit design software, MicroStation.
5+ years of related design experience on large infrastructure projects. Rail/Transit project experience is a plus.
8+ years’ experience in the production of engineering design drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Good communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong graphical, and organizational skills.
An ardent desire to learn and grow professionally.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $72,300.00 - $110,000.00.
