Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer - Bridges to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. In this critical role, you will oversee the construction and maintenance of complex bridge projects, with a focus on marine and cable-stayed structures. As the on-site representative of our engineering team, you will ensure that all project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.
Manage day-to-day operations of bridge construction projects, including marine and cable-stayed structures
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
Review and approve construction methodologies, materials, and equipment
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks
Analyze and resolve technical issues that arise during construction
Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain project documentation
Ensure compliance with local construction codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
Collaborate with the design team to implement any necessary modifications or improvements
Monitor project budgets and schedules, recommending adjustments as needed
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
Minimum of 15 year of experience in bridge engineering and construction, with a focus on marine or cable-stayed projects
Minimum of 5 years experience on cable stayed bridges/Marine bridges.
Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction management practices
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule control
In-depth understanding of construction codes and regulations in Bahrain
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional communication and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
Willingness to work on-site and travel as required
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
