Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer - Bridges to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. In this critical role, you will oversee the construction and maintenance of complex bridge projects, with a focus on marine and cable-stayed structures. As the on-site representative of our engineering team, you will ensure that all project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.

  • Manage day-to-day operations of bridge construction projects, including marine and cable-stayed structures

  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met

  • Review and approve construction methodologies, materials, and equipment

  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks

  • Analyze and resolve technical issues that arise during construction

  • Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain project documentation

  • Ensure compliance with local construction codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards

  • Collaborate with the design team to implement any necessary modifications or improvements

  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, recommending adjustments as needed

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred

  • Minimum of 15 year of experience in bridge engineering and construction, with a focus on marine or cable-stayed projects

  • Minimum of 5 years experience on cable stayed bridges/Marine bridges.

  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction management practices

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software

  • Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule control

  • In-depth understanding of construction codes and regulations in Bahrain

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment

  • Willingness to work on-site and travel as required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
