Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented and creative Landscape Architectural Designer to be based in Markham, ON .

This is a full time role expected to begin in January or May 2025.

Job Summary:

  • Be Creative: as a junior member of our team, you will apply your proficiency in conceptual design, 2D and 3D graphics, diagramming, modeling and rendering to help the team craft a vision for a project that will be carried through the entire project lifecycle.

  • Build and Apply Technical Skills: working with more senior staff, you will apply your fundamental technical skills from prior education and work experience to expand your technical prowess through active mentorship, on-the-job training, and professional development. You will gain mastery in 2D / CAD and 3D / Revit software, ensure adherence to AECOM standards, and apply client standards.

  • Practice at Scale: You will apply your genuine excitement and enthusiasm for large and extra-large scale projects that are the hallmark of AECOM.

  • Work Nationally: Apply your interests and abilities across Canada – our team brings the best people forward based on best-fit for the project rather than geographic location.

  • Concept through Completion: Tackle design assignments through the entire life-cycle of a project, including site analysis, concept design, schematic / detailed design, construction documentation and construction administration.

  • Collaborate: Work closely alongside landscape architects, urban designers, planners, architects, transportation planners, and engineers in all aspects of your work.

  • Transdisciplinary Assignments: Work on challenging, trans-disciplinary infrastructure and design projects in public realm, transportation, transit, architecture, and water.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Will be completing or have completed their Bachelors or Masters in Landscape Architecture or related post-secondary program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portfolio of project assignments from prior education and work experience that demonstrates your creative / conceptual design abilities, graphic sensibilities, and technical skills.

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D software tools necessary to complete the work identified in the Job Summary above. Please list current software tools and level of proficiency in your CV or portfolio.

  • Excellent skills in creative problem solving and conceptual design.

  • Visual + graphics communications skills in 2D and 3D.

  • Experience working as part of a diverse team through prior education and work experiences.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00.
