Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Highway Design Civil Engineering Intern to be based in Mechanicsburg / Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
This position is expected to begin in June 2025.
Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Design of roadway geometry, traffic control, as well as signing and pavement markings
Utility coordination support
Computer Aided Design production
Quantities and cost estimates
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Current enrollment in a college or university pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Must have 1 year of completed study towards B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software
MicroStation and/or Autodesk familiarity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate effective time management, task prioritization, and strong interpersonal skills
Valid US Driver's License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices, Selected candidate will undergo a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $21.00/hour - $28.00/hour.
