Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Hydraulics Engineer to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our Buildings and Places business line, you will lead hydraulic engineering projects across various sectors, including aviation, healthcare, commercial, and defence.
Serve as the Hydraulics lead on major projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
Act as Technical Lead and sign off on hydraulic designs and calculations, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and codes.
Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
Manage client relationships and consult with stakeholders to determine optimal hydraulic solutions for project requirements.
Lead the design and implementation of various hydraulic systems, including rainwater harvesting, sanitary plumbing and drainage, trade waste drainage, water reticulation, and energy-efficient water heating system.
Qualifications
Ideally, 10 + years of experience in hydraulic engineering, preferably in a consulting environment
Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems, design principles, and Australian standards and codes
Relevant TAFE Qualification or Engineering Degree alongside RPEV / Chartership.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Australian Citizenship (or on the pathway) is highly preferred due to project requirements
