Job Description
Our global Buildings and Places business line brings together a versatile and collaborative term of urban planning, building design and engineering professionals working to create liveable, sustainable, and equitable cities.
Due to promotions within the team, our Melbourne Buildings & Places team are seeking a Principal Hydraulics Engineer to join their team. This presents an opportunity for an experienced Hydraulic professional to work on a variety of projects including aviation, health, commercial and defence.
What will a day in this role look like:
Act as Hydraulics lead on projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary Engineers on major projects whilst developing and mentoring junior engineers within the business.
Sign off on designs and calculations and assign tasks to junior engineers. Use your technical knowledge and experience to provide cost effective solutions to clients on a range of projects.
Use your experience to deliver projects and manage client relationships, consulting with various stakeholders on key project drivers to determine the best hydraulic solutions.
Support the national Hydraulics team on a variety of projects, varying in size, giving your exposure to working with senior engineers in the field, enhancing your skill set and technical knowledge
Be involved with a variety of design services including; rainwater harvesting, sanitary plumbing and drainage, trade waste drainage, potable and non-potable water reticulation, hot and warm water systems, energy efficient and solar hot water heating, specialist water systems (reverse osmosis and demineralised) and water efficient designs.
Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?
Ideally, 10 + years’ experience preferably working within a consulting environment with exposure to Australian standards and codes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority on projects.
Relevant TAFE Qualification or Engineering Degree alongside RPEV.
Full working knowledge of the MS Office suite with exposure to relevant industry software (Revit knowledge preferred, not essential)
Due to the project requirements of this role, Australian Citizenship (or on the pathway) is highly preferred.
