Job Description
Our global Buildings and Places business line brings together a versatile and collaborative term of urban planning, building design and engineering professionals working to create liveable, sustainable, and equitable cities.
Due to a healthy pipeline of work, our Buildings & Places group are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team, based in Melbourne. This role would suit someone who possesses excellent technical and design skills, with the ability to deliver projects across a range of market sectors.
What will a day in this role look like:
Utilise your extensive design and project management expertise to ensure high-quality, cost-effective project delivery across key sectors such as healthcare, defence, transport, and other major building projects throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, applying your technical leadership to review and optimize design calculations, specifications, and drawings, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Lead mechanical design efforts and oversee project delivery for major clients, conducting technical reviews, and providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers across the business.
Foster strong client relationships by engaging directly with stakeholders, offering innovative solutions, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?
Ideally, 11 + years’ experience working for a Building Services consultancy or, possess significant design experience working for a Mechanical contractor.
Track record of project management and leading mechanical components of building services major projects within Australia.
Proven record in technical design and project delivery across a range of building services projects.
An in-depth understanding of Building Services projects and standards, with outstanding communication skills to impart you technical experience to junior engineers and clients as required.
