Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Renewables Energy to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a servant leader with a proven track record of growing profitable teams and driving successful Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind projects. This role will leverage AI and global resources to deliver innovative and sustainable energy solutions at market price points. The individual should have a passion for renewable energy and excel in working with IOU and developer clients.

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Our understanding of the big picture – and the interconnection between generation, distribution, storage, and the demand side of the meter – allows us to deliver holistic strategies that improve and modernize next generation energy infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of professionals focused on delivering renewable energy projects, including Solar, BESS, and wind

  • Drive the growth and profitability of the renewables team by identifying new business opportunities and optimizing project delivery

  • Utilize AI and global resources to enhance project efficiency, innovation, and sustainability

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that emphasizes servant leadership and professional development

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, actively selling AECOM services

  • Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes that meet or exceed client expectations

  • Hire, train, and mentor staff, ensuring the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success

  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to keep AECOM at the forefront of the renewables sector

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards

  • Be accountable for project performance and quality, ensuring client satisfaction and project success

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on Solar, BESS, and wind projects

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and growing profitable teams

  • Ability to work effectively with clients, selling AECOM services and ensuring their success

  • Experience in hiring, training, and mentoring staff

  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement

  • Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of AI applications in renewable energy projects

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget

  • Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability

  • Ability to work effectively with clients, selling AECOM services and ensuring their suc

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $190,000.00 - $235,000.00.
