Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Bridge Engineer for employment in the Minneapolis, MN office.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, responsibilities include:

  • Planning, studies, design, inspection and construction engineering with a focus on transportation-related projects in support of the highway, bridge and transit/rail engineering staff.

  • The position will involve primarily office engineering but may involve field assignments from time to time.

  • Structural design and analysis of highway structures (bridges, culverts, retaining walls etc.) of various ranges of complexity

  • Field related work including site visits, data collection, bridge and sign structure inspections. Load rating of existing structures

  • Preparing and checking design calculations for bridges and other transportation related structures

  • Develop structural details, plans, specifications and quantity calculations

  • Perform shop drawing review

  • Collaborate with team and other discipline members on project development

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil engineering or other related field required

  • Excellent engineering and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to our bridge design team.
