AECOM is actively seeking a Civil/Water Resources Engineer for our Middleton, Wisconsin office. This is an exciting opportunity to become engaged in one of the leading civil engineering firms in the world with opportunities to apply your skills to projects within our community and across the globe. The ideal candidate will have some background in planning, preliminary and final design, and construction-related services of civil and water resources projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Applying proven experience to the planning and design of civil/water resources projects including storm water systems (sewer/watercourse/best management practices), sanitary sewer systems, site development, and other civil infrastructure such as roadways, and potable water systems
Developing and formulating cost-effective, technical solutions to client problems on assigned projects
Preparing documentation related to current or prospective projects, including plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, correspondence, and reports
Communicating and working with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards
Collaborating with other groups across AECOM offices
Field work will be required on an occasional basis to support land surveyor and construction engineers
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering or related field)
0-2 years of civil and/or water resources engineering experience
Valid US driver’s license
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
0-5 years of civil and/or water resources engineering experience
Technical skills in design preparation using design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS.
Familiarity with stormwater modeling software (XP-SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WinSLAMM, HY-8, etc.).
Knowledge of local and state storm water management and erosion control requirements.
Experience in planning, preliminary and final design, and construction related services.
Experience in working with MDNR, MNDOT, Corps of Engineers and other regulatory agencies.
Good attention to details and accuracy of work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong computer skills with ability to learn new technical software applications
