Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an entry level Environmental Engineer to join our Minneapolis, Minnesota Remediation team. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting, design, and implementation services to our key clients.
This position is expected to begin in June 2025.
Responsibilities for this position may include the following:
Conducting environmental field work, including collection of samples for soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, & soil gas analysis, data from remediation systems, groundwater sampling, & fluid level gauging, and oversight of subcontractors.
Producing accurate and complete documentation of field work tasks for sampling efforts, system operation, and site inspections, in addition to processing and interpreting field data.
Supporting office tasks, including data interpretation, analysis, report preparation with comparison of findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Traveling to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
Health and safety planning and hazard recognition.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil/Geological/Chemical Engineering.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Master’s degree in environmental engineering or related field.
Engineer-in-Training certification.
Knowledge of PFAS.
Knowledge of environmental sampling practices.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong quality and time management.
Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.
Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
Excellent attention to Health and Safety.
Additional Information
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
Travel of 40% is required for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $57,000.00 - $63,000.00.
