Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications. This is a regular, full-time position, based in office, out of Mississauga.
Job Summary:
We are seeking apassionate senior community engagement and communications professional to join our team, and help build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Major Responsibilities:
Working collaboratively with our client and specialist teams, you will be accountable for leading engagement and communications for a one of the largest infrastructure programs in Canada. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborating with the Program Delivery team and the Stakeholder Relations and Communications department to create and execute tailored stakeholder management and communication strategies for each program.
Supporting the management of program budgets and schedules, document control, resourcing and project records.
Leading public and stakeholder engagement activities and tactics, including in—person and virtual workshops, advisory committees, community meetings and public open houses.
Creating and reviewing communication materials including key messages, FAQs, presentations, notices, story boards and discussion guides.
Offering advice and insights on stakeholder strategy through the program’s governance structure and various stakeholder management forums.
Supervising and directing multiple stakeholder engagement and communication advisors to maintain a consistent and effective approach across programs.
Establishing and implementing robust governance to oversee and assess stakeholder management activities within the program.
Working closely with Program Leads to ensure clear communication and coordination of resource requirements.
Evaluating the effectiveness of communication and engagement programs and ensuring comprehensive program-level reporting, including preparing management and executive reports related to stakeholder management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
- No less than a University Degree + 8 years of relevant experience in a stakeholder management and/or communications management position, including experience on infrastructure programs greater than CAD $500M.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
Typically, a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in a stakeholder management and/or communications management position.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in large airport projects, or equivalent infrastructure programs greater than CAD $500M.
A degree (e.g., public relations, communications or related field), or relevant professional designation (e.g., IAP2, CPRS, IABC, IAF), is preferred although proven practical experience is essential
Able to demonstrate sound knowledge, understanding, and experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships and establishing effective communications strategies in an operational and public-facing environment.
Demonstrated experience in managing small teams (2-5 people) to implement effective stakeholder management and / or communications management plans
Demonstrated experience in managing stakeholder relationships and providing management level reporting to enable effective decision making.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings / workshops with groups of stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills; this role requires continuous interaction with program and team leaders, client management and the public
Experience with government relations, media relations, public relations, stakeholder analysis and facilitation
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 - $165,000.00.
