Job Description

AECOM Mississauga is looking for a Project Coordinator - Transit & Rail to be assigned in Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide project coordination / control and review the designs and construction of infrastructure projects proposed by outside companies and government agencies on or near railway property on behalf of our clients (Railways) to ensure compliance with Railway Standards.

  • Acts as liaison between Third Party applicants and Railway.

  • Project coordinator for transportation / rail projects including freight-rail and transit-rail.

  • Support project managers with routine and non-routine tasks.

  • Typical duties will include:

  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings

  • Monitor project costs and budgets

  • Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports

  • Review documents (drawings, reports, contractor shop drawings, etc.)

  • Acts as liaison between Third Party applicants and Railway;

  • Set up new projects and track monthly billing.

  • Prepare project schedules and monitor progress of work

  • Review and compile client submittals

  • Write technical specifications and bid documents

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering + 2 years of heavy civil engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 1+ year transit and railway experience will be an asset.

  • Understanding of Railway Rules and Regulations, and Safety and Operating Procedures;

  • Project coordination experience

  • Experience in transit or rail

  • Experience working on-site (construction supervision, surveying, compaction monitoring / testing, etc.)

  • Project management experience would be an asset;

  • Design and/or review of engineering plans;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Interacts with clients in a professional manner;

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills are a must;

  • Able to work well under pressure;

  • Detail oriented, adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads;

  • Self-starter, ability to multi-task

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $98,000.00.
