Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Resiliency Planning Specialist to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga.
We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Major Responsibilities:
Integrates resiliency considerations into water programs, including stormwater management, water conservation, and water quality initiatives.
Embeds resiliency strategies into waste programs, covering terminal waste, outbuilding waste, construction waste, circular construction, and off-aircraft waste.
Enhances natural environment programs by incorporating resiliency measures into tree-planting, wildlife management, plant management, and species-at-risk initiatives.
Ensures carbon reduction and resiliency principles are effectively integrated across the environmental management team.
Collaborates with Stakeholder Relations and Communications (SR&C) and external partners to align sustainability efforts.
Ensures all relevant initiatives align with the client's vision and strategy for a sustainable, carbon-positive, and environmentally responsible future.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
- University Degree in engineering, planning, or sustainability field + 4 years of relevant experience in the environment, energy, or sustainable design sector.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Proven ability to drive sustainability outcomes in the infrastructure sector; experience with large, complex programs is an asset.
Comprehensive understanding of sustainability and Net Zero principles, with a strong focus on decarbonization (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions), climate risk assessment, and management.
In-depth knowledge of sustainability, ESG frameworks, and climate accounting, management, and disclosure standards.
Hands-on experience in sustainable resource management, materials efficiency, and circular economy principles.
Strong technical expertise across all project phases, with the ability to solve complex problems using data analytics to inform decision-making.
Additional Information
This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $69,000.00 - $120,000.00.
