Job Description
AECOM Mississauga is hiring a Senior Estimator for Rail Systems.
Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for linewide systems elements (i.e. signaling and train control, communications, traction power distribution, fare collection system) of the project, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Estimate Validation: Review quantities against proposed design and technical specifications to validate material requirements and ensuring best measuring practice have been implemented
Quality Control: Review estimates for accuracy, consistency, completeness and contractual compliance before formal submission.
Relationship Management: Maintaining strong relationships with the Project Co to ensure consistent quality and compliance throughout the joint estimation process
Contract Management: Reviewing contracts, change orders, and submittals to ensure all provided estimates align with project requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely design and construction teams, scheduling and risk teams, independent estimators, independent value assessors and other critical stakeholders to ensure estimates accurately reflect the scope and complexities of the project
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in in Civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Professional certifications in construction estimating (e.g., from AACE or ASPE).
10 years experience in estimating within the construction industry, with at least 5 years’ specific estimating experience in Systems (Traction Power, Signaling and train control, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and other related systems.)
Excellent working knowledge of EPC estimating methods, processes, and procedures, in addition to the estimate types, classifications, and components.
Excellent working knowledge of unit rates for materials, labor, and equipment specific to civil projects.
Preferred Qualifications :
- 15+ years experience in estimating within the construction industry, with at least 5 years’ specific estimating experience in Systems (Traction Power, Signaling and train control, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and other related systems.)
Additional Information
Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 - $185,000.00.
