AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry Level Environmental Engineer I for immediate employment in the Morrisville, NC office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities during the program, including access to AECOM's social media resources, group mentoring, and professional networking. The program also has learning activities that will be available to you, including webinars and on-line programs.
The candidate will serve as a team member in the office and field, assisting project and program management with the design and implementation of investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation. Strong analytical and communications skills are a must. In addition to field work, the candidate will be responsible for work plans, reports, assisting management with proposal and project costing, and written/verbal interaction with regulators and clients.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Soil, soil gas, and groundwater investigation
Compiling, evaluating, analyzing, and presenting engineering calculations and evaluations
Preparation of work plans, reports, and other technical documents
Development of cost estimates and proposals
Groundwater remediation system design (ERD, ISCO, groundwater extraction and treatment, air sparging)
Fieldwork, including some extended travel, when necessary
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Bachelors of Science Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering required (or relevant engineering degree)
0-2 years of consulting experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
OSHA 40 Hr Hazwoper
Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills are desirable
Passing Engineering Intern (EI) test is strongly recommended
Ability to work independently
Ability to travel, including extended travel, when necessary
Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients
