Job Description

The Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer will design, develop, and review drawings and submittals on vertical transportation projects (elevators, escalators, and moving walkways). This professional will adapt and modify design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations. The selected candidate will have experience performing the following:

  • Undertaking vertical transport design for major projects.

  • Working closely with principal designers to develop the Vertical Transport Design.

  • Managing the production of drawings and reports and preparing vertical transportation projects specifications.

  • Supervising and coordinating the work of others and coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines.

  • Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs.

  • Inspecting installations and witness testing on site.

  • Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.

  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Be able to design and deliver vertical transport solutions on major and/or complex projects.

  • A strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.

  • A desire to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • The ability to communicate clearly, through sketching, speaking and in writing, with client s and design teams.

  • Proven experience of undertaking vertical Transportation Design, using passenger traffic analysis software where appropriate.

  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.

  • Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects.

  • Able to quickly develop successful client relationships.

  • PE or QEI license preferred

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in utilizing design software including passenger traffic analysis software (ELEVATE) CADD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive vertical transportation experience and preferably come from an elevator contracting or consulting background.

  • A strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles

  • A desire to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in utilizing design software including passenger traffic analysis software (ELEVATE) CADD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel and Outlook

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $175,000.00.
