AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Civil Engineer for employment in the Omaha, NE office. This opportunity is anticipated to begin May/June 2020 and will be assigned to railroad projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard design techniques for civil and railroad related projects., Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Prepare civil and track engineering related plans, profiles, and cross sections and develop drawings and quantities.
Prepare technical reports
Field related work including periodic site visits and assist with construction related questions and periodic construction inspection tasks.
Participate in continuing education activities
Collaborate with team and other discipline members on project development
Work with Inroads design software and Microstation CADD platform.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis transportation engineering design or other related field
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as of Land Desktop/AutoCAD, InRoads, InSite, and MicroStation)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
