Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Inspector to be based in Orange, CA.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Visits construction site and inspects each stage of construction on a designated project up to completion.
Works under the supervision of a project construction manager as part of an integrated construction management team.
Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in
accordance with the contract documents.
May assist in obtaining approved designs and permits from utility companies for services to construction sites.
Determine if construction work conforms to plans and specifications; if not, issue Non-Conformance Reports for corrective action.
Maintains daily inspection reports for construction activities, which may include logs and materials reports.
Review or prepare interim progress reports in support of verification of contractor payments. Monitor contractor quality testing activities.
Prepare reports on labor, material, and equipment on site for extra work items.
Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while
complying with project’s safety rules, policies, and procedures.
May coordinate and/or provide input for the preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance records.
Arranges, coordinates, performs or oversees technical inspections of work for disciplines such as civil and structural including concrete and welding for conformance to specification requirements.
Coordinates independent test laboratory activities and compares verifications test results with results from Contractor’s laboratory.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma + 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Driver License required
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing municipal infrastructure projects across planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, environmental permitting, construction, and project close-out.
Significant project management experience in coordinating PW infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects through all phases. This includes program planning and development, resource management, budget management and control, schedule management and control, design, and construction administration.
Professional Certification, such as Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM), is preferred.
An educational background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Work experience in project planning and development.
Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
Proficiency in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and controlling costs.
Ability to develop and review project schedules.
Proficient in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Expertise in identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Experience in Design-Bid-Build project delivery.
Experience in deferred Maintenance/Refurbishment projects.
Knowledge of Public Contracting Code and practices.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $44.65/hour - $82.60/hour.
