Job Description

AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning team is seeking a visionary and dynamic Landscape Architecture Practice Lead for our Florida Urbanism practice that includes Design Studios in Miami, Tampa and Orlando. The primary responsibilities are to lead and grow AECOM’s urbanism practice throughout Florida with the goal of driving landscape architecture, placemaking, urban design innovation, thought leadership, and practice management. Diverse public and private sector projects including municipal, transportation, institutional, and environmental.

We are seeking an individual who is an industry-recognized leader, has strong client relationships, and an established industry network to help grow our Urbanism practice with opportunities to collaborate with our east coast leadership. The ideal candidate understands and has a proven track record in driving business fundamentals that include business development, client management, financial oversight, quality control, project delivery, and has the ability to convey innovative design thinking and solutions. This is a Hybrid role and does require to be in the office a few days a week.

In collaboration with the Buildings + Places and Urbanism + Planning teams the Urbanism Lead will:

  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for urbanism practice, including building a landscape architecture and urban design practice that serves our three design studios in Florida.

  • Relate the AECOM vision to clients and community needs in Florida and advocate for design excellence.

  • Build client relationships, pre-position for opportunities, and secure a portfolio of work that aligns with growth objectives.

  • Contribute to AECOM’s “think and act globally” philosophy by creating a culture of innovation and collaboration.

  • Proactively focus on team building, talent development, retention, and recruiting.

  • Train, mentor, and develop staff to grow their careers and the business.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Landscape Architecture plus 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Licensed Landscaped Architect

  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience

  • U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience leading complex landscape architecture projects

  • Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture

  • Licensed Landscaped Architect (In Florida and Southern states is Preferred)

  • Deep knowledge of the marketplace and industry trends in Florida with national reach

  • Experience practicing landscape architecture and urban design in Florida and for municipal, county, or state clients, as well as institutional, higher ed and transportation entities

  • Experience and skill in strategic business development, client interviews and relationship building, and driving sales and revenue

  • Experiencing interfacing with project delivery teams on scope of work development, budget and schedule, and client satisfaction

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $145,000.00 - $200,000.00.
